Jessie E. Fanning, of Southampton, died on Friday at Southampton Hospital.
Born to immigrant parents from Poland, Stephen and Eva Kellis, Jessie had 11 siblings. She is survived by a brother Bob Kellis, of Southampton, and Eddie Kellis ,of Wethersfield, Conn.
A graduate of Southampton High School, she married Joseph Fanning in 1946 and had 48 years together, raising six children. She was a retired telephone operator and is a lifelong member of the Pioneers. Jessie was very involved in the Southampton community when her children were young, and her home was the place where all of the neighborhood children would play. She loved being around her family hosting many 4th of July gatherings.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1994, Jessie is survived by her children, Joseph and Stephen of Southampton; Susan Matesic and husband Evans of Southampton; Nancy Munson and husband Frank of Virginia Beach; Patricia of Manorvillel and Mary Margaret Marcincuk and husband Robert of Southampton. In addition to her children, Jessie is survived by nine grandchildren: Ashley, Shaun, Michael, Joseph, Brandon, Daniel, Megan, Jackson and Haley, and one great-grandson, Jeffrey.

Visitation is Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at O'Connell Funeral Home in Southampton Village. The funeral mass will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampton Village.
