This week, the Southampton Animal Shelter is looking to find a home for Joy, a 2-year-old petite tiger, who came in as a stray in January 2012.
According to Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, Joy's adoption fee has been wavied as part of an extention of the shelter's "Cats Here Over A Year" promotion where the adoption fees for all cats over a year old are waived and adopters get 6 months of free food and medical care for their new pet.
All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.
Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.
To adopt Joy or any of the other animals available for adoption, call the shelter at 631-728-7387 or visit them at 102 Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays.
