Recent arrests elsewhere on the East End:

EAST HAMPTON

• A resident of the Springs Fireplace Apartments was stabbed outside his home on Monday morning. East Hampton Town police say his attacker has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, although a search is underway to find the knife. Police Chief Ed Ecker said that Ismael Hernandez, who is 36, was stabbed in the stomach outside 140 Springs Fireplace Road at around 5 a.m. Emergency medical services transported him to Southampton Hospital, where he underwent an operation and is listed in stable condition, Ecker said. Carlos Bedoya, of Prospect Boulevard, East Hampton, was apprehended. His motive was unclear, Ecker said.

WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS

Bianchi, 45, of Hampton Bays, was arrested Aug. 12 at 3:45 a.m. in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree-alcohol related, a felony, as well as moving from lane unsafely, a traffic infraction. Police said Bianchi was pulled over for failing to maintain his lane while driving northbound on Ponquogue Avenue and he performed poorly on sobriety tests.

• The East End Drug Task Force has charged James R. Connolly, 30, of Hampton Bays, with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony. Connolly was charged, according to Southampton Town police, after members of the task force conducted an investigation for several months into illegal prescription pain medication sales.

• Southampton Town police say they have arrested a 32-year-old Speonk man who severely beat a woman with a pool stick, metal pipe and stool for several hours on July 26 in a Speonk home. Police said the man, Beswick A. Grizzle, has been charged with assault in the second degree and unlawful imprisonment in the first degree, both felonies.

NORTH FORK

• Wayne E. Rogers, 55, of Greenport, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana on Aug. 12 at 10:43 p.m., after Southold Town police observed him smoking a pipe outside of the Rhumb Line restaurant in Greenport, police said. Upon seeing the officer, Rogers ran into the Rhumb Line's bathroom, police said. When officers made entry into the bathroom, a pipe containing hashish was found smoking in the garbage, police said. Rogers was arrested, transported to police headquarters in Peconic and released on bail for a later court date.
