When a Sag Harbor police officer pulled over a driver who was repeatedly stopping on Ferry Road, it was discovered that the man was drunk behind the wheel while a child was in the back seat, according to an arrest report.
Romulo Quezada-Santos, 29, of East Hampton, was placed under arrest March 9 at 3:45 p.m. and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, which is a felony under New York State's Leandra's Law, as well as DWI, a misdemeanor.
Police said that Quezada-Santos kept stopping on the road in his 2001 Honda because he was looking for work. His speech was slurred his eyes were glassy, and he had an unsteady gait, the arrest report states.
He was held overnight for morning arraignment in Sag Harbor Vllage Justice Court.
