A membership at one of Southampton's private golf courses could run in the six-figure range, but 18 holes at Sag Harbor State Golf Course is just $1 per hole.
The course is open year round but now that spring is here, activity on the course will really pick up.
“Now that spring is beginning to break through winter’s stubborn hold, we are pleased to open our golf courses for the 2013 season,” New York State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey said. “Golf is a sport that promotes spending a great amount of time interacting with the outdoors, and we find it increasingly important that New York State Parks offer our world-class courses and unparalleled views to the public at a great value. We hope to see beginners and returning golfers teeing off on our greens very soon.”
Green fees at Sag Harbor State Golf Course, for 9 or 18 holes, are $18 on weekdays and $27 on weekends and holidays. Electric cart rental is $20 and push cart rental is $3.
