Southampton Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst has been named as the new chair of the Suffolk County Supervisors' Association. Throne-Holst, who previously served as vice chair, received the designation on Sept. 10
Throne-Holst replaces Mark Lescko who has resigned his post as Brookhaven supervisor to run the Accelerate Long Island project.
Throne-Holst said that as the new chair she plans to focus on key issues that were brought up when the supervisors' association was revived last year. Those issues include, water quality protection, reducing health care costs, and cost savings through shared services.
"I am pleased to help lead the way in bringing policy makers and experts to the table to develop regional strategies to help address these issues," said Throne-Holst, who will be sit along side Islip Supervisor Tom Croci, who will replace Throne-Holst as vice chair.
