After knocking off the No. 2 seed North Fork Ospreys in the semifinals and No. 4 seed Riverhead Tomcats in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball finals to take their first HCB crown, the Southampton Breakers' road to the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League finals isn't quite through.
The Breakers match up against the North Jersey Eagles, winner of the Wolff Division on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The winner will go on to play the New York Atlantics, who won the Kaiser Division, on Sunday for the ACBL crown.
Lefty Paul Paez is expected to pitch for the Breakers, and Paez reportedly tied the league record for wins in the regular season, innings pitched and strikeouts.
The Breakers finished the regular season as the No. 3 seed, though the four teams that made the playoffs were only separated by two games. Southampton went on to beat North Fork in three games, and topped Riverhead in two straight games.
Saturday's game will be played at Stony Brook Southampton.
